Historical Black Festivities are an integral part of my life. I love the history of our civil rights movement, the Declaration of Independence and other milestones in American history. The Confederate States Army held a parade that was documented in 15 different locations in North Carolina including Raleigh, Winston-Salem and Durham. The 1865 Black Festival and the May 18th, 1865 Free Speech Rally are considered two of the most historic events in our nation’s history.
